Alright fishays, I recently received an email from Karl to congratulate me on getting my blog featured in Poker Player Magazine this month and my immediate thoughts were one of bemusement. Huh? WTF! Who wants to read about this nonsense? I did wonder why hits on the blog have soared recently from an average of 100 views per day to the dizzy heights of 110. Naturally i felt compelled to take a peek at the aforementioned article and ventured to my local WHSmiths to purchase a copy. Page 14, Best Of The Blogs, Simon ‘Amatay’ Jones plays Casanova. The words fml ran through my head about 7 or 8 times. I’ll quote the article in its entirity for you…

After reading that i felt a slight tinge of embarrassment tbh but it did make me chuckle as well. Whenever i read back over some of my older blog post i often cringe whilst reading although i do laugh at myself occasionally too. On this particular page in there magazine they also have a picture of a heart with a mouse cursor on it with the caption, ‘Amatay wants to see top pair before showing the nuts’ haha! Pokerwise i don’t have too much too shout about atm. I’ve been playing quite alot of PLO on Encore and also some $.5/1 rush and was making a few hundo here and there until the other night when i jizzed off $800, sigh. At these limits people are sooo nitty that all it seems is a case of having the nuts or a monster draw. People don’t ever value bet non nuts hands and rarely bluff. In tournaments (which is something i need to play alot more of) again I’ve managed to eek out some profit but have nothing noteworthy to mention. I did luckbox my way to heads up in three comps recently and lost on each occasion to the worst players ever which was slightly annoying. Maybe i’m the fish? I should have something to shout about soon on the travelling front though with myself and Greekstein close to locking a balla Villa for 6 months in Phuket, Thailand for a redic cheap price. I might still make it to Vegas in July although with a trip to Turkey in two weeks and purse strings abit tight atm its unlikely. Hopefully more news on the traveling plans soon and some success on the virtual felt for my next blog post, laters.
