Newcastle Stag and Some Online Success

Last weekend saw me take the loooong trip up to Geordie land for my mate Gazza’s stag do. I’ve been to Newcastle on two previous occasions for a team poker tournament/piss up and for my mate Bills b’day and each time I’ve had a good crack and this visit was no different. We got there early Friday afternoon and immediately started on the beers at the hotel lobby, there were 15 of us in total and we were all already proper mezzed up by the early evening. We left the hotel for some posh pre booked munch at some fancy restaurant during which time i’m pretty sure every staff member and customer all hated our guts and couldn’t wait for us to fook off! We were basically just acting like a bunch of drunken rowdy twats as you do on a stag weekend.

The night already started to become a bit of a blur at about this point but i think we sank a few more drinks in a couple of bars before going to the casino for a bit to shizz off some more money. We probably spent too long in there tbh but i think i got lucky on the roulette binking a few quid on number 35 on the roulette wheel and ended up about 50 nugs in profit. After the gambling we went to the Gate and just got obliterated. I don’t know the names of some of the places we went and i cant remember much of it, sigh. I think i got back to the hotel at about 3 ish and my roommate Demps was already asleep. I wasn’t even sure if he was dead or alive given the position he was sleeping in. How do you even breathe when you lay down like this? lol.

After getting what felt like five minutes of shut eye we were all up again at 8.30 in the morn for Go-Karting. I was obviously a complete mess but this actually really helped to clear my head and i really enjoyed it. I’m usually the world’s worst driver but managed to come 14th out of 23 other geezers, drink driving ftw! I used to play footy with the stag a few years ago and he was always picking up red and yellow cards and the dirty bastard got sent off after only 2 laps for treating the karts like bumper cars lol. He’s a snap of the plum in the attire we kitted him out in for the Go-Karting.

Much of Saturday was pretty much spent on getting smashed again, standard stuff. We sank a load of drinks down by the River Tyne and then ventured closer into the main part of the city and drunk about a million shots, it was proper comedy. After that it was the strippers, a must for every stag weekend. I’m usually quite a tight fish when it comes to strippers tbh. I mean 20 quid to see a nice pair of boobs and a flash/whiff of fanny is alot of money imo. I know people that do their little bollocks in them places, ahem Greekstein, Adam and JJay I’d rather go get or at least try to get my grubby paws on some boobs and fanny for free tbh. However, I don’t mind parting with some of my own hard earned cash on special occasions though and i experienced one of the best dances ever, it was just incred, this bird was perfect! After the boobies we went to the club Tiger Tiger which from what i recall was wicked. Loadsa drinks, banter, women, good tunes and abit of a boogie woogie, good times! Obv had the obilgatory 48 hr Amatay hangover afterwards but it was worth it.

Poker news now and i managed to make $5k profit over 3 sessions last week. I felt really sharp and focused and made a ton of final tables. I had the same feeling as i did when i was playing most days late last year and killing the games. I guess its like anything when you play alot of games on a consecutive basis you play better and better as opposed to playing a few days then taking a few days/weeks off lol. Unfortunately what with the stag weekend i seem to have lost that edge again dropping $1k this week. I reckon I’m on the brink of getting back to how i was feeling /playing last year having hardly played this year so I’ve set myself some tough goals for May which i will blog about next time.
